What is Community Council?
Community Council is a student-run organization which acts as a student government for Campus Village Apartments. Community Council allows residents to voice their opinions and ideas to improve their community and helps to create change by working closely with Campus Village Management. Community Council also organizes and hosts monthly events put on at Campus Village Apartments.
Who is in Community Council?
Community Council is composed of the Executive Board (the President, Vice President, Marketing Coordinator, Treasurer, and Secretary) and a marketing representative and 16 floor representatives. Each position will hold responsibilities related to his or her field; for more position information, please see POSITION DESCRIPTIONS under the “About the Council" tab.
Why join Community Council?
Some Community Council officer positions are compensated, while others are volunteer. Either way, it is a great way to get college experience in an area that will benefit your resumé and your career path. Campus Village Community Council will also allow residents’ opinions to be valued and executed at Campus Village Apartments. In addition, joining Community Council is an excellent way to become a part of the community and meet new people; who knows, you might even find your new best friend.
Who can join Community Council?
Campus Village Community Council encourages any resident of Campus Village Apartments to join as long as your are a student at either the University of Colorado Denver, Metropolitan State University, or Community College of Denver, and you must maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA. Do not hesitate to apply due to little or no experience; there may be available positions to suit everyone’s needs.
How to join Community Council?
If you are interested in becoming a member of Campus Village Community Council, please fill out a Community Council Application in POSITION DESCRIPTIONS under the "About the Council" tab and submit it to the Front Desk. The President will then review your application and contact you for further information.
When are weekly meetings held?
Community Council weekly Executive Board meetings are held EVERY Friday at 3:00pm in the North Third Floor Common Room. Every resident of Campus Village Apartments is encouraged and welcome to attend our Community Council Engagements, every Tuesday night at 7:00pm in the classroom. Hope to see you there!
