What is Community Council?
Community Council is a student-run organization in which it acts as a government for Campus Village. Community Council allows residents to voice their opinions and ideas, in order to improve their community, by participating in frequent meetings and elections.
Who is in Community Council?
Community Council will be composed of a President, a Vice President of Programming and Development, Director of Student Relations, Secretary/Treasurer, Public Relations (PR), Media Relations (MR), and floor representatives. Each position will hold responsibilities related to his or her field; for more position information, please see the “Community Council Member Application” for specific details.
Why join Community Council?
Although Community Council members will be volunteers, and thus unpaid, each member will reap many great benefits. Community Council is a great way to get college experience in an area that will benefit your resumé and your career path. Campus Village’s Community Council will also allow residents’ opinions to be valued and executed in the student apartments. In addition, Community Council is an excellent place to become part of the community and meet new people; who knows, you might find your new best friend.
Who can join Community Council?
Campus Village’s Community Council encourages anyone to participate; whether a member of the Executive Council, Creative Team, or simply a resident, any individual is welcomed. Do not hesitate to apply due to little or no experience; there may be available positions to suit everyone’s needs.
How to join Community Council?
If you are interested in becoming an Executive Council member, a Creative Team member, or a floor representative, please fill out a “Community Council Member Application” and submit it to the Front Desk. The President will then review your application and contact you for further information.
